BMG Flow Control Valve-February 2020-Bearing Man Group t/a BMG

BMG’s fluid technology department provides a wide range of components and supports for fluid technology systems and general industrial applications. These products include valves, hydraulic hoses and fittings, accumulators, cylinders, heat exchangers, hydraulic motors and hydraulic pipes, as well as pumps and tank accessories.
Important valves in the BMG product portfolio include InterApp Bianca and Desponia butterfly valves, which are recommended for efficient and safe use in demanding industrial flow control applications.
“The rugged butterfly valve is designed to reliably shut down and control corrosive fluids and high-purity applications,” said Willie Lamprecht, BMG Fluid Technology Low Pressure Business Unit Manager. “The compact butterfly valve has good flow characteristics and low maintenance requirements, and is extremely versatile, ensuring reliable operation even in the harshest environment.
“Unlike a ball valve, the disc of a butterfly valve always exists in the flow channel. This means that no matter the position of the valve, it will cause a pressure drop in the flow. Ball valves can only be used for isolation, while butterfly valves can be safely used for isolation and Control the flow.
“Compared with other types, one of the advantages of using a right-angle rotary butterfly valve is the simple wafer-shaped design, fewer parts, easy repair and minimal maintenance.”
BMG’s InterApp Bianca center butterfly valve has a durable PTFE lining and a long service life, suitable for corrosive and corrosive fluids and applications where absolute purity is critical.
These high-performance valves are between DN 32 and DN 900 in size and are made of ductile iron, carbon steel or stainless steel valve bodies to meet the requirements of all industries. Bianca butterfly valves can be individually configured by BMG to ensure reliable operation and optimal safety in specific applications.
For example, Bianca valves (DN 50-DN 200) that comply with FDA standards are equipped with mirror-polished stainless steel discs and high-purity PTFE linings to ensure the production safety of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Bianca valves with PFA-coated discs and PTFE lining are recommended for highly corrosive chemical applications.
This series of valves uses specially selected conductive discs and lining materials, and also complies with the explosion-proof directive ATEX 94/9EG, ensuring safe operation in explosive environments.
The notable features of the Bianca series include high bushings, PFA disc overmolding on the shaft, and lifetime preloaded safety shaft seals, ensuring reliable primary shaft sealing and long-lasting secondary shaft sealing, even for harsh operating cycles and high temperatures .
The cavity lining prevents cold flow on the flange sealing surface, thereby prolonging the service life, while the PTFE lining combined with the PFA overmolded disc ensures low friction, thereby extending the service life of the system. Other features include an external shaft sealing mechanism to protect the valve neck hole and a robust self-lubricating and maintenance-free bushing. Stainless steel valve tags allow full traceability.
BMG stocks a wide range of semi-finished components to provide short delivery times, even for the Bianca series with a maximum size of DN 900.
Typical applications of Bianca butterfly valves are extraction of acids and solvents in mining and mud; additive processing in the oil and gas industry and highly corrosive processes in the steel industry. This series is also suitable for water treatment where the smallest impurities need to be avoided.
BMG’s multi-purpose InterApp Desponia and Desponia Plus center butterfly valves have a sturdy body and a sturdy elastomer lining, and are designed for safe and reliable adjustment of liquids and gases in different fields.
Desponia valves are available in sizes from DN 25 to DN 1600 and pressures up to 16 bar, suitable for various industrial applications. This series can provide cast iron and ductile iron valve bodies.
The size of the Desponia Plus series is between DN 25 and DN 600, suitable for high pressure applications up to 20 bar, suitable for high temperature or vacuum applications and process automation. This series can provide valve bodies made of ductile iron, cast iron or stainless steel.
The liner and butterfly plate of this series play a vital role in the elastic lined butterfly valve, because they are the only two parts in contact with the fluid. Flucast® liners are suitable for abrasive applications and are also compliant with FDA and EU regulations.
Notable features of this series include an external shaft sealing mechanism that protects the valve neck hole and a long neck design that allows pipe insulation. The fixed gasket provides protection against blowout, and an O-ring is built into the shaft passage to form part of a reliable shaft sealing system.
The sealing lip on the flange surface provides a perfect seal, and the optimized shape of the lining ensures a precise grip on the body. The square drive disc provides effective and durable torque transmission, and the edge of the polishing disc minimizes friction.
The Desponia series ensures safe operation in water treatment processes, power generation and demanding chemical treatment applications. These valves can also withstand operations in the steel industry, where the shut-off valves used to inflate molten steel are exposed to harsh conditions. These valves with specially coated discs are also suitable for mining and mud, and are used in extraction processes that require valves with the highest wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
