Corrosion resistance of common valve materials – chloroprene rubber

Neoprene, also known as neoprene, is a new flat rubber. It is mainly made of chloroprene (i.e. 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene) ¦Á- Synthetic rubber, which is produced by polymerization, is widely used in weathering resistant products, adhesive sole, coating and rocket fuel.

It is flame resistant, sunlight resistant, ozone resistant, acid alkali resistant. The disadvantage is poor cold resistance and storage stability. It has high tensile strength, elongation and reversible crystallinity, and good adhesion. Aging and heat resistant. Excellent oil and chemical corrosion resistance. The cold resistance and ozone resistance are second to EPDM and butyl rubber. The heat resistance is equivalent to that of NBR, and has certain flame retardant. Oil resistance is second to that of NBR. It has good resistance to inorganic acid and alkali corrosion. The cold resistance is slightly poor, and the electrical insulation is not good.
