Endicott man arrested after threatening police with knife

Authorities responded to a home on Endicott Avenue on Tuesday, December 21, saying a man may have mental health issues.
Travis Cornell, 40, locked himself in a second-floor bathroom before jumping out of the window, threatening police with a knife and running for a few blocks.
Johnson City police said Cornell refused to show his hands and obeyed police orders, who incapacitated him with pepper balls.
Police said Cornell suffered some self-harm before they arrived and suffered a leg injury when he jumped from a second-floor window.He was treated at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center before being arraigned on felony threatening police and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Authorities say Cornell is also on parole.He is being held at the Broome County Jail without bail.
