Vortex Global’s patented TPV sliding gate valve is designed to solve high pressure applications up to 100 psig (6.8 barg) and high temperature applications up to 660¡ã F (350¡ã C). TPV gates are designed for extremely abrasive applications, but require minimal maintenance during the valve’s entire life cycle.
Vortex TPV does not contain polymers or elastomers, which can become a problem at high temperatures. The ductile iron casing, stainless steel piston rod and the air gap between the valve body and the cylinder reduce the heat transfer to the cylinder, making it safer than ordinary valves in high temperature applications. Vortex’s patented rising blade technology uses lifting lugs to ensure optimal sealing and positive material closure. When opening or closing, the metal-to-metal seal keeps the bevel blade in contact with the valve seat. This design prevents the blade from jamming or packing material when it is fully closed, which can cause downtime.
The thin profile of TPV makes it an ideal replacement valve for larger rounded knife gates and butterfly valves. Unlike most knife gate valves, TPV includes a replaceable stainless steel seat, which can significantly extend the life of the valve. Other features include spring-loaded blade guides, double-acting cylinders, mounting bosses for optional proximity switches, and a standard purge port to prevent material from entering the body and material flow. TPV is designed to withstand gravity flow conveying or dilute phase and dense phase pneumatic conveying applications.
TPV sliding doors are part of the Vortex Titan series of products and are used to process highly abrasive materials such as cement, clinker, coal, fly ash, sand, gravel, glass and limestone. The Titan series valves combine multiple design features to minimize downtime and increase process efficiency.
