New machines for mowing, laying, raking, baling, wrapping and harvesting grass are set to go live on UK meadows.

New machines for mowing, laying, raking, baling, wrapping and harvesting grass are set to go live on UK meadows.
Albutt will be showcasing two new loader attachments at the Grassland UK event for squeezing rather than stapling bales – meaning they can be used to pick and place wrapped bales.
The F352 Square Bale Handler is an elevated clam design with a two-stage squeeze action that minimizes gaps between bales when stacking.
Designed for use with tractor loaders or telehandlers, the device can be adjusted to four closed positions from 540-1,030mm to accommodate different sized packs.
Albutt’s F450 Baler is another heavy duty design, but this time for end or side gripping round or square bales, wrapped or bare.
The gripping arms are pushed outwards by hydraulic cylinders and are spaced between 0.75m and 2.05m, and the relatively narrow enclosure size makes it easier to enter the building.
The tool has a capacity of 1 ton, weighs 220 kg, can add a rear frame to securely grab and carry two bales at a time, and is equipped with a telehandler, tractor loader, skid steer or wheel loader bracket.
Amazone’s third-generation “ED” precision drilling rig is expected to be on display at the show, in the shape of the ED 4500-2C, complete with a fertilizer hopper and particulate kit.
It features a new electric fertilizer metering system as well as a hydraulically driven seed metering system with individual row closing via GPS.
Seed metering uses vacuum and mechanical seed selection principles as before, there are Classic and Contour sowing units available, but the latter has new options for very light and sandy soils.
These include a second depth guide roller and seed press roller for maximum seed to soil contact.
Seed hopper capacity has been increased to 60 liters/row (hence 720 liters for 12-row models) with seed level monitoring, while a new electric drive for the fertilizer metering system allows for easier calibration and variable rates.
Forage jig specialist Bock UK presented its Kombi2Plus silage board and Silofix mulch for the first time at the event.
Silage sheets consist of a base film wrapped around the same roll to provide maximum protection against damage to either sheet and to act as an oxygen barrier.
Bock’s Silofix conveyor belt sits over the clamps and holds down the lid to maintain an airtight seal with gravel bags installed every 80 cm.
After co-developing with Goweil the G5040 Kombi Ready option that will be showcased at the event, it is now possible to pack on the go with one of John Deere’s quick-discharge, variable-size round balers.
Installed by the dealer, the system includes a dual-axle chassis and satellite arm winding system that replaces the baler’s own running gear.
It can be used with the John Deere 960 – producing bales 80-160 cm in diameter – or the 990 model for bales up to 185 cm in diameter.
The flexible curtain rear housing of these balers provides a quick exit for finished bales; the conveyor system then quickly moves the bale to the packing position, where two arm dispensers apply stretch film.
The 960 and 990 Balers feature a 2.2m RotoFlow or MaxiCut 13- or 25-knife pre-cutter pick-up assembly and a full-width floor-mounted mechanism for grass plug removal.
With the Goweil G5040 Kombi Ready Option for John Deere 900 Series Variable Chamber Round Balers, you can pack while packing.
The Claas Volto lawn tedders on display on UK meadows provide a bigger addition to growers wanting higher yields.
At 13m, the Volto 1300T is the widest paver in the Claas range, using 10 rotors, each 1.5m wide, with seven arms to cover the ground.
The articulated arm design of the Max Spread layout is said to improve crop flow and allow for faster work without compromising spread quality.
A new option to lift all rotors for headland turns while all rotors continue to spin is a new option that has dual casters on the drawbar in addition to the support wheels on each rotor to help in Keep a steady keel on undulating ground.
New attachments developed for JCB’s newest Loadall telescopic loaders and Farm Master wheel loaders will be in Grassland, UK, where the 4000 Series Fastrac will also make its debut on the Krone site.
The latest Multi Shovel, Power Grab and Grain Shovel attachments feature a more refined design process that optimizes the use of stronger steel for increased durability and increased payload, but there are also individual improvements.
The Multi Shovel’s grab has a 50% increase in gripping force, the Power Grab has a larger tine opening and more effective spill containment, while the Grain Shovel bucket has improved geometry and reduced weight for higher load ratings .
These improvements complement the performance gains achieved with the new boom hydraulics on the Loadall 531-70, 536-60, 536-70, 541-70, 535-95, 550-80, and 560-80 agricultural robots, facilitating more Fast cycle times increase productivity by up to 20%, especially when reprocessing.
The main change is that the boom can be lowered faster with full control by letting the oil pass through the lift cylinder circuit faster, even at lower engine speeds.
JCB says the engine now lowers at ticking as fast as the previous system at high revs, saving fuel and time.
Vicon’s newest variable chamber baler will debut at the show to showcase the new PowerBind web application system, which uses fewer components and works without feed rollers.
The RV5216 can produce bales up to 1.65m long, while the RV5220 is a 2m version; both have five endless belts for bales formation and a ‘closed’ chamber for reliable bale start-up.
The PowerBind system is considered to be one of the fastest net wrapping processes, and the reels are replenished in the lower part of the machine and the spare rolls are carried out near the netting mechanism.
Promising easier baler operation and density control, Intelligent Density 3D software offers pre-configured settings for straw, hay and silage, reducing the chance of error when changing crops.
Hydraulic working height adjustment is a standard feature on the new Kuhn GA 13131 four-rotor harrow, introduced on UK grass for larger farms and contractors.
Adjustable working width between 11m and 12.5m using four rotors, each with 11 tine arms, each with four tines, supported by four rotatable large diameter wheels for efficient Carry weight while maintaining desired tine height on undulating ground.
Kuhn’s three-dimensional rotor suspension is used to provide good stability at high speeds, while a hydraulic rotor drive system mounted on the nose frame can increase the drive speed of the front rotor by 20% when working on light crops.
The operator uses a cab-mounted VT50 Isobus compatible terminal to operate the implement, including adjusting the strip width between 150 cm and 240 cm to accommodate the following equipment.
Control sequences can be recorded and replayed to simplify headland turns, and each rotor can be raised individually to maintain clean raking performance on sloping headlands.
The larger-capacity version of the Rapide 55 silage truck, shown at last year’s Prairie event, will make its debut on the British Prairie.
The Rapide 65 from the Dutch company Schuitemaker has a capacity of 37 cubic meters according to the horizontal fill DIN standard, and its loading capacity has been increased by 6 cubic meters – an increase of more than 19% – to increase productivity.
Like the Rapide 55 before it, it features a gear-driven 1.8m pick-up and chopper rotor, but otherwise medium specs and relatively compact dimensions, with an overall width of 2.5m.
Mowing up and down rather than on the ground or in a circle reduces dead time and headland compaction, says Kuhn, who favors adjusting the 3.1m and 3.5m center trail mowers that were highlighted at the show. device.
The new FC 3160 TCD can be operated on either side of the tractor, with or without a front-mounted mower adjuster, and tow on-line during highway driving.
It features Kuhn’s Gyrodine swivel hitch for optimal PTO alignment for 540 rpm or 1,000 rpm and tight turns.
Mowing is carried out by Optidisc cutter bars with Fast-Fit knives, regulated via steel flail rotors or a 240mm diameter two-speed twin-roller mechanism for gentler handling of the crop, which can be laid in strips or spread out to wither faster.
The 8.3m Novacat X8 rear butterfly unit for a triple mower combo will be a highlight of the Pottinger demonstration in Grassland, UK, which works with the new Power Control operator terminal for tractors with load sensing hydraulics.
The average lawn mower weighs 1,800 kg, while the flail adjuster model is 2,200 kg and the drum adjuster model is 2,400 kg, has 14 discs, each with two blades, and requires 140 horsepower to produce approximately 10 hectares/hour.
The Power Control is an Isobus compatible multifunction controller with a small color display and backlit, slightly raised membrane buttons. In addition to the dedicated buttons, there are four softkeys that can be assigned to operator-selected functions.
