Almost every player has encountered cheaters in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, whether they know it or not. This problem is so common that Valve’s anti-cheating bans thousands of players every day.
Because CSGO cheating is so common, there is an easy way to check the banned match history of your own account, and you can do this without uploading the match code.
An add-on called Ban Checker for Steam is available for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, allowing you to check the game history of players banned by Valve anti-cheat. After downloading the extension, log in to Steam via a web browser.
Click your profile name, and then click “Games” in the list on the right. Find Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and select “Personal Game Data”. This option will take you to a page where Valve has stored all your statistics from CSGO, including the entire game history of your profile.
Go here to generate your personal Steam API key and copy it using the account name you used when logging in to Steam as the domain name. This allows you to extract game data from the Steam API.
Click “Competitive Tournament” and then “Set Steam API Key” at the top of the tournament. Select “Use custom API key” and paste your API key and save it. Reload the personal game data page and click “Load entire game history”. It may take a while to extract matches from the Steam API, but click “Check if the loaded matches are banned” when finished.
On this account, we found that about 3% of the players who played with us were banned by VAC. This is much less than most stories suggest. Either way, there is now a way to check if there are any banned players in your past games. Now you don¡¯t have to wonder whether the last suspicious opponent just had a particularly lucky day.
