The world’s only ceiling-mounted intraoperative CT from IMRIS was approved by the FDA

July 22, 2013 Medgadget editor: Cardiology, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery
The FDA has approved IMRIS for its ceiling-mounted intraoperative CT system VISIUS iCT. This is the world’s first and only such a system, which can be installed on a track on the ceiling and can be deployed around the patient within thirty seconds if necessary. Since the system does not touch the ground, there are far fewer things to remember and move when deploying the scanner, and once the scan is complete, the operation can be quickly restored.
The tomography scanner is a 64-slice scanner that can be shared by adjacent operating rooms and slides between two operating rooms. Compared with single-room intraoperative CT, its utilization efficiency is almost doubled.
