U.S. Army core engineers in the Tulsa District have selected Unico Mechanical Corp to repair two 180-inch butterfly valves (BFV) at Tenkiller Dam Powerhouse in Gore, Oklahoma.
The US$4.9 million contract will include the removal of the existing OEM metal seat and the installation of Hartmann Valve’s proprietary technology “CIRCLOC” seal assembly.CIRCLOC uses an integrated elastic rubber seal to form a reliable elastic seal.Unico will manufacture the new components of the CIRCLOC seal assembly at its California plant, and Unico’s field service team will perform all professional on-site installation work to overhaul the two BFVs on site during the six-week power outage in early 2022.
Unico’s engineering and field service teams will also conduct field operation and performance tests on two 180-inch butterfly valves after the overhaul is completed.

Tenkiller Dam valves have refurbished two 180-inch butterfly valves, including new gearboxes and controls, lubrication systems, and valve bypass systems.Unico Mechanical will provide all services related to the contract through its own highly skilled craftsmen and internal engineering support.
