Job description: The job includes the following: 1. Demolition of a 1 million gallon, double ellipsoid, legged elevated water tower built in 1939. 2. The foundation of each leg should be demolished to a depth of 18 inches below the existing water tower ground level. 3. The filling and extraction riser should be discarded at the 10-inch gate valve in the manhole, as shown in Appendix A. 4. The electrical service of the tower should be disconnected and the power supply removed. 5. The site should be level, without holes or depressions, or any debris left in place.
Completion of work: All work under the contract must be completed within thirty (30) calendar days after receiving the notification to proceed.
Minimum Contractor Qualifications: The bidder shall have general contractor experience who has successfully demolished an elevated water tower with a capacity of 500,000 gallons or more in the past five years.

Labor Rate-Minimum Wage Requirements: This project is funded by the Minnesota Public Utilities Administration’s Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund and the City of Albertley, Minnesota. The program is subject to Minnesota and federal minimum wages.
Performance guarantee and payment guarantee: The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance guarantee and labor and material payment guarantee, each of which has the same amount as the contract.
Bids, agreements and guarantees shall be subject to compliance with all provisions of the bid documents.
Project management: All issues related to this project should be directly raised to the project engineer/manager before bid opening. However, it should be understood that no specification interpretation will be made over the phone.
