“Half-Life 2″ has ultra-wide support and adds FOV added by Valve

While there seems to be expectations for the Steam platform, “Half-Life 2″ has received many updates, including ultra-wide support.
As YouTuber Tyler McVicker first discovered, the update includes fixes to bugs nearly a decade ago, expanded FOV sliders, and adjustments to the UI so that the game supports ultra-wide monitors.
The update also includes necessary adjustments to prepare Half-Life 2 for Vavle’s upcoming handheld Steam Deck. Steam Deck uses Vulkan, which is an API that allows games to be used normally.
Valve has previously announced that Portal 2 has also received support in cooperation with Vulkan, which indicates that Valve’s entire catalog is likely to enter handheld devices.
However, despite earlier claims to the contrary, Valve has confirmed that the Steam platform will not run all Steam games, although the publisher will review all these games.
On October 18th, Valve shared information about how the company assigns a “Deck Verified” status to the game. “Deck Verified” means passing four tests: input, seamless, display and system support.
“We have started to review the game, and will continue to review the game after release and beyond. This is an ongoing evaluation of the entire catalog, and the rating of the game will change over time-as the developer releases updates or Deck software improves , The game will be reviewed again.”
Steam Deck games will be assigned four tags, depending on their performance during Valve’s internal review. These tags are verified, playable, unsupported, and unknown.
