Mueller Water Products, Inc. is launching the Super Centurion A-403 fire hydrant, which is designed to be installed and maintained by one person. In addition, Mueller is expanding its 250/300 elastic wedge gate valve product line with a new end design.
Super Centurion A-403 fire hydrant Super Centurion has a two-piece ductile iron upper barrel. The nozzle part of the barrel can be separated from the traffic area by removing two high-strength bolts, making seat replacement or traffic maintenance easy and quick . A-403 has a traffic flange, 5-1/4″ fully sealed, reversible main valve, durable polyurethane finish and automatic oil lubrication. In addition, all internal components, nozzles and maintenance parts can be fully interoperable with the Super Centurion 250 fire hydrant change.
Initially, A-403 has a 5-1/4″ main valve and a 3-way opening configuration (2 hose nozzles/1 pump nozzle). This lightweight dry barrel fire hydrant has passed UL/FM/ under 350psi AWWA certified operating pressure, and has been factory tested to reach 700 psi.
250/300 category flexible wedge gate valve Muller’s 350psi, AWWA/UL/FM rated flexible wedge gate valve (RWGV) product line expansion and new end design meet the ASME/ANSI size requirements of 250/300 category valves. In particular, the flange and laying length (end-to-end) of the new 250/300 RWGV meets ASME/ANSI B16.1, B16.42, B16.10 and PN25 drilling standards. The standard size of this ductile iron valve is 3 to 12 inches, meets the requirements of AWWA C509/C515 and NSF 61/372, and retains all the competitive features of other 350psi rated RWGV, including integrated lifting lugs, self-activating wedge seals and 316 grade stainless steel fasteners.
Typical applications include machinery rooms, pumping stations, reservoirs and water treatment facilities in high-rise buildings operating under higher pressures. 250/300 RWGV can provide Mueller® and US Pipe Valve&Hydrant® brand non-rising stem (NRS), indicating rear (PI) and external thread and fork (OS&Y) configurations.
