Only in Maine: Have you seen "FU Janet Mills" at Augusta?

You can once again file an article I wrote safely under the Maine Only tab.The beauty of the First Amendment here in the U.S. is that it allows you, other than yelling in crowded theaters, to say pretty much anything you want.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that the U.S. political climate has nearly reached boiling point over the past few years.The pandemic that emerged more than a year ago has undoubtedly added fuel to an already existing flame.
We’ve even seen party polarization in Maine.And, to be clear, I’m not a big fan of Janet Mills, but she’s “if she does” and “damn if she doesn’t” during this pandemic (like many other governors Same).When it comes to the pandemic, whatever choices she makes will disrupt one side or the other of the political aisle.In this case, it upsets people on the right mainly.
While driving to KVYMCA for a workout yesterday, I drove past Blaine House on State Street (as usual).But this time, something was different.As I drove by, I noticed something in the corner of my eye.There was an older gentleman sitting on the front steps of the Brian House next to the sidewalk (outside the security gate) with the words “FU Janet Mills”.Yes, that’s what it actually says.No, the “F” word isn’t actually written on the sign.
While I didn’t vote for the current governor, I certainly don’t want to wave the “FU” sign in front of her residence.But again, the First Amendment is a beautiful thing that allows us all to speak our minds, no matter what our minds may be saying.
