Griffco Valve, Inc., located in Amherst, New York, announced the launch of its new Y-type filter series designed to improve the performance of chemical feed systems. Designed for horizontal or vertical installation, adding a Griffco Y filter on the suction (inlet) side of the chemical feed pump will prevent debris from entering the pump and clogging the check valve or damaging the inside of the pump head, according to the company.
Griffco and its distributors can be purchased worldwide. The new Y-type filter is manufactured in the United States and has a standard 1/32 inch mesh. Other apertures or 316 stainless steel mesh are available on request. The structural materials include PVC, transparent PVC and CPVC with NPT, BSPT or socket connection. There are five standard sizes from 1/2″ to 2″ (DN 15 to DN 50), and the Cv value ranges from 4.0 to 28. The new Griffco valve Y-filter has a 2:1 opening area ratio and a hexagonal cap for easy screen access, the company said. Real union, flange and European connection are available for an extra charge.
