Victaulic butterfly valve and check valve get DNV approval

Victaulic is the world’s leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe connection systems. Its Vic-300 MasterSeal™ butterfly valve-761 series and Vic-Check® check valve-716 and 716H series have been approved by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) Type certification.
The approval certificate is valid until June 2017 and covers Class III piping systems used for fresh water cooling, condensate return, non-essential systems, sanitary drainage pipes and non-essential service air.
Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valve has DNV type approval, size range is DN50 – 300 (2” – 12”), rated pressure is 21 bar (300 psi), temperature range is 0-121°C (32 – 250°) F) .
The Vic-300 valve body and disc are made of ductile iron conforming to ASTM A-536, and the electroless nickel coating on the disc conforms to ASTM B-773. Can choose EPDM, nitrile rubber or fluorine rubber seat. Designed for grooved joints, they can also be used with Vic-Flange Adapter Type 741.
Compared with most traditional valves, these valves provide better flow and better sealing performance and a longer life expectancy. The unique design of the offset disc and two-piece stem can increase the flow rate and reduce the operating torque by up to 35%, and provide a 360-degree bubble seal. The pressure-enhanced rubber seat in the valve body seals evenly on both sides of the valve, minimizing long-term wear and maximizing service life.
In addition, MasterSeal valves are easier to install and maintain because they are lighter and their position in the pipeline network can be changed infinitely. Traditional flange-end valves are much heavier and can only index to the next available bolt hole position when aligning the lever or gear operator. These features make MasterSeal valves a clear and simple choice for ship owners, operators and their crew.
The DNV type approval of check valves covers the 716H series with a size range of DN50-DN80 (2”-3”), a rated pressure of 25 bar (365 psi) and a size range of 716 series with a size range of DN100-DN 300 (4”) Product – 12”) The pressure rating is 21 bar (300 psi). The temperature range depends on the selected sealing material.
The check valve is made of ductile iron conforming to ASTM A-536 or ASTM A-395, and can choose EPDM, nitrile rubber or fluorine rubber seals to combine high pressure capability with low pressure drop performance. The grooved end design allows quick and easy connection using Victaulic fittings or Vic-Flange 741 style fittings.
