The U.S. Army Engineering Center in the Tulsa District has selected Unico Machinery to repair two 180-inch Butterfly Valves (BFVs) at the Tenkiller Dam Powerhouse in Gore, Oklahoma.
The $4.9 million contract will include removal of the existing OEM metal seat and installation of the “CIRCLOC” seal assembly, a proprietary technology of Hartman Valve Company.CIRCLOC utilizes an integral elastomeric rubber seal to form a positive and resilient seal.Unico will manufacture the new components of the CIRCLOC seal assembly at its California facility, and Unico’s field service team will perform all professional field installation work during a six-week shutdown in early 2022 to perform on-site overhaul of both BFVs.
Unico engineering and field service teams will also conduct field operation and performance testing of the two 180-inch butterfly valves following the completion of the overhaul work.
