Y Type Strainer Price Sloans & Kenyon Loose 4.08ct Diamond

Six telephone bidders, combined with online and internal competition, pushed the final price for the diamond and two triangular diamonds to between $8/12,000 and $36,600. It was the highest price paid at a jewellery auction on December 10th.
Chevy Chase, MD. – Sloans & Kenyon held its December catalog auction on Dec. 15, Sell six S. Kirk and Son Co. Sterling Silver Landscape/Castle Pattern Tea/Coffee services for $6,710. This coffee maker is 12 inches tall and features a teapot, double handle sugar bowl with lid, cream jug, waste bowl and kettle with a coordinated handle bucket filter on the kettle stand. Every boat is dotted with beautiful scenery.
The highlight of the month, however, came on December 10, when the company held an auction of traditional jewellery. Here, a loose bright cut round diamond and two loose triangular cut diamonds, suitable for setting in an engagement ring, sold for $36,600, surpassing the $8/12,000 estimate. There were six telephone bidders and competition from priceless assets and viewers.
A modern 18k gold diamond low-dome ring in size 4-1/4 left the gallery for $14,030 at the Dec. 10 jewelry auction, above the high estimate of $8,000. The pear-shaped Champagne diamond weighs about 3.50 carats and is held in place by three prongs on a low conical domed band with four ribbons for a total of 16 white sticky-cut diamonds, each weighing about 0.07 carats, and 39 round sequined cut diamonds, each weighing about 0.03 carats.
A Greek 18-karat brushed gold Y-shaped elastic chain necklace by Mapamenos Natepas, along with a pair of matching rebate earrings, costs $9,150. This piece, signed circa 1980, is designed as a pair of leaves; Each earring has two pairs of leaves.
The 14K gold medal depicts Alabama industrialist Erskine Ramsey (1864-1953), reads “American Society of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers/George Herman Dyke 1955 outstanding achievement in coal technology” and carries a price tag of $6,100.
A medal was also conspicuous at the auction on December 10. Two other lots sold for $6,710 each at the Dec. 15 auction. One was a pair of flintlock dueling pistols with brass walnut butts. From the late 18th century to the early 19th century, every church was decorated with “E&T Annely”.
The same number was a Red gilded George III clock with two spherical tops on either side of the caddie’s top, which opens to a brass finish with a Roman numerals ring and cast shoulder straps. In a long box, a rectangular base with an arch labeled “York AGAR” is 89 inches high.
A portrait by Claude Joseph Rudette Delaire (France, 1760-1836), attributed to Alexander Rosling (Sweden, 1718-1793), sells for $6,033. Ruge de Lisle was the composer of the exciting “Marseilles”. On the night of April 25, 1792, he composed the Hymn of the Rhine Army. It was later sung that summer by Marseilles troops travelling to Paris (hence the name “La Marseillaise”) and adopted as the national anthem in a decree passed on July 14, 1795. Roslin’s oil portrait is displayed in a gilded wooden frame with a signboard at the bottom.
The price given includes the buyer’s premium stipulated by the auction house.
