Principle requirements for filter selection
The filter is a small equipment to remove a small amount of solid particles in the liquid, which can protect the normal operation of the equipment. When the fluid enters the filter cartridge with a certain size of filter screen, its impurities are blocked, and the clean filtrate is discharged from the filter outlet. When it needs to be cleaned, as long as the removable filter cartridge is taken out, it can be re loaded after treatment.
1. Inlet and outlet diameter of filter:
In principle, the inlet and outlet diameter of the filter shall not be less than the inlet diameter of the matched pump, generally consistent with the inlet pipe diameter.
2. Nominal pressure selection:
Determine the pressure level of the filter according to the highest possible pressure in the filter line.
3. Selection of hole number:
The selection of filter hole number mainly considers the impurity particle size to be intercepted, which is determined according to the technological requirements of medium process. Refer to the following table “screen specifications” for the interceptable particle size of various specifications of screen.
4. Filter material:
The material of the filter is generally the same as that of the connected process pipe. For different service conditions, the filter made of cast iron, carbon steel, low alloy steel or stainless steel can be selected.
5. Calculation of filter resistance loss
The pressure loss of water filter is 0.52-1.2kpa under the general calculation of rated flow rate.
