Replacing a manual butterfly valve seal usually requires the following steps:
1. Prepare
First of all, the manual butterfly valve should be closed, and if conditions permit, empty or decompress from the system to avoid any accidents during operation. Then prepare the necessary tools and materials, such as wrenches, impressions, new seals, cleaning cloths, etc.
2. Remove the old seal
Use tools such as a wrench to remove the sealing nut, and remove the old sealing from the butterfly valve body. If the old seal is old and hardened, it may be more difficult to disassemble, and the surrounding metal components can be heated appropriately to soften the old seal.
3. Clean and grease
Wipe the sealing surface and contact surface of the manual butterfly valve with a clean cloth, and apply appropriate amount of grease to facilitate subsequent installation.
4. Install new seals
Select a new seal with the same model and the same specifications as the old seal, and place it flat on the pendulum plate. Then gently open the butterfly valve body so that its assembly surface faces the new seal, and gently press it into the position. Finally, tighten the nut and fix it.
Step 5 Test
After replacing the seal of the manual butterfly valve, it should be tested, and the valve should be opened to check whether there is leakage. If the valve operates normally and there is no problem, the replacement work is successfully completed.
