KSB SAS, a member of the KSB Group, recently released a new liner for its ISORIA butterfly valve type range.
The inner lining is made of hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) and is certified according to the requirements of the European Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 on Food Contact Materials.This new approval expands the range of applications for the series, which has already been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
NH Liners (HNBR) are designed for all food applications using animal, vegetable or mineral oils and acidic liquids.It is resistant to hydrocarbons and can be used in liquids containing solids as it is very abrasion resistant.The selective hydrogenation of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) significantly improves the temperature resistance of HNBR.Butterfly valves with liners made according to the new formulation (NH) can be used for liquid fluids up to a temperature of 150 ¡ãC.
