Mueller Water Products, Inc. is launching the Super Centurion A-403 fire hydrant, which is designed for one person installation and maintenance. In addition, Mueller is expanding its 250/300 flexible wedge gate valve product line with a new end design.
Super Centurion A-403 Fire Hydrant Super Centurion uses a two-piece ductile iron upper barrel. The nozzle part can be separated from the traffic part by removing two high-strength bolts, making seat replacement or traffic maintenance simple and quick. A-403 has a traffic flange, 5-1/4″ fully encapsulated, reversible main valve, durable polyurethane finish and automatic oil lubrication. In addition, all internal components, nozzles and maintenance parts can be completely integrated with the Super Centurion 250 fire hydrant exchange.
Initially, A-403 is available with 5-1/4″ main valve and 3-port opening configuration (2 hose nozzles/1 pump nozzle). This lightweight dry barrel fire hydrant has passed UL/FM/AWWA at 350psi The certified working pressure and factory test are 700psi.
250/300 grade elastic wedge gate valve Mueller’s 350psi, AWWA/UL/FM rated elastic wedge gate valve (RWGV) product line is expanded with a new end design, which meets the size requirements of ASME/ANSI 250/300 grade valves. Specifically, the flange and laying length (end-to-end) of the new 250/300 RWGV meets ASME/ANSI B16.1, B16.42, B16.10 and PN25 drilling standards. This ductile iron valve is available in standard sizes from 3 to 12 inches, meets the requirements of AWWA C509/C515 and NSF 61/372, and retains all the competitive features of other 350psi rated RWGVs, including integrated lifting lugs, self-activating wedge seals and Grade 316 stainless steel fasteners.
Typical applications include computer rooms in high-rise buildings, pumping stations, reservoirs, and water treatment facilities operating at higher pressures. 250/300 RWGV can provide non-rising stem (NRS), column indicator (PI) and external thread and yoke (OS&Y) configurations, including Mueller® and American Pipe Valve & Hydrant® brands.
