The correct valves, pipes and fittings are important for the successful operation of power generation facilities. Clark Valve announced that its proprietary gate valve design has received API 641 certification, which is the first control valve to be certified for low fugitive emissions performance. The API 641 standard applies to all stem sealing materials and requires a strict maximum allowable leakage of 100 parts per million (ppmv). The API test standard requires the valve to undergo 610 cycles under extreme temperature fluctuations to evaluate the emission performance during the accelerated life cycle.
