Shipham Valves launched a new series of wafer check valves

Shipham Valves, a subsidiary of Wärtsilä, has completed the development of a series of new composite veneer sheet check valves, which will be introduced to the market at the Valve World Exhibition in Dusseldorf at the end of November.
Single-plate wafer check valves vary in size from 3″-12″ / DN80-DN300, with a rated pressure of 16 bar (230psi), which adds to the existing compound valve series for Shipham Valves. The latest product is a compact, lightweight, and completely non-metallic valve, consisting of only two parts-the valve body and the valve disc.
The material used to make the Shipham composite valve is thermoset glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin (GRE). These materials have excellent internal and external corrosion resistance, will not melt, creep or shrink, and have significant weight savings compared to equivalent metal valves.
Dave Bowen, Business Development Manager at Shipham Valves, said: “Veneered sheet check valves are an exciting development for us, and it demonstrates the skills and expertise of everyone involved in our product development program.” This latest development Keep Shipham Valves at the forefront of anti-corrosion valve technology. ”
The latest addition to the compound valve series further strengthens Shipham Valve’s leadership in corrosive valve manufacturing, and after its acquisition by Wärtsilä Corporation in January 2012, its commitment to research and development has also been further enhanced. strengthen.
