This is the Atelier fluff that you take regularly.We’ve spent the past few years with Ryza and I’m sure we haven’t seen her last.But for now, we’re reconnecting with the lead character of 2015′s Atelier Sophie to see what she’s done since she left Kirchen Bell.Friends, you now know what’s going on.Turn-based combat, crafting and many colorful characters.I’ll have a full review of this soon, but Atelier fans can dive into it without fear.
In recent months, Ratalaika has re-released several Genesis games from Masaya on modern platforms.Well, it’s another Masaya game, but this time it’s from one of the other 16-bit consoles: the PC Engine CD.You know, TurboGrafx.Regardless, it’s a Sprint-style single-screen racer.While that’s nothing to brag about, it’s probably the best game in the Moto Roader series.Between this and the Valis Collection, we’ve recently become addicted to Turbo games on the Switch.I’ll be commenting on this soon, but in terms of functionality it’s pretty much the same as other recent simulation work by Ratalaika.
The game describes itself as “a throwback to ’64′s JRPGs of the ’90s,” which immediately struck me.Usually when someone throws out “64″ they mean Nintendo 64.But there are only a few games where I’ll even brush the JRPG genre a little on the system.Further investigation revealed that the developers wanted to pay homage to the Quest 64 with this game.Well, I guess every game is someone’s favorite.The combat system is different, but you can certainly see inspiration.If you happen to be one of those people who has fond memories of the Quest 64, you might want to drop the game.Unlike you’ll see a whole bunch of other spiritual successors to the game.
ZeptoLab’s Pudding Monster comes to Switch in as straightforward a form as possible, right down to requiring you to play in handheld mode due to forced touch controls and portrait mode.It comes with a slightly higher pre-order price and reduced IAP, leaving you with some pure puzzling fun.There are one hundred and twenty five levels of monster merging fun.Create unique creatures by joining pudding monsters of various shapes and use their various powers to help you clear each stage.
At this point, combining another proven gaming concept with a little thrill is basically eastasiasoft standard operating procedure.This time, it’s a base defense game where you play as a pirate captain named Riley, who orders her lovely lady crew to loot other ships, loot all the loot, and fend off any looters stupid enough to attack.Gameplay is as standard as a lane-based defense game.The main gimmick here is that you’ll unlock some sexy photos of Riley and her crew as you play.
As you might expect, this is a set of #1 Anagrams and #1 Sudokus.You can get plenty of puzzles of both types for a reasonable price.As always, be aware that the non-bundled version is sold at a lower price.Not much to add.
Cascadia Games’ Ammo Pigs: Cocked and Loaded brings a brand of run-and-gun action to Switch.Explore levels, avoid obstacles, and unleash some powerful fire on enemies in order to save helpless chickens from the cunning machines that track them.Fun games for a reasonable price.
One shot.A person.level one.a boss.But hey, it’s a very long level.It’s an action platformer where you make your way through lengthy single levels full of enemies and traps, and fight bosses at the end.For those who want a little extra spice, there are Checkpoints, Powerups, and Hardmode.Seems to be ok, but I can’t play it myself yet.
Time to start another Minimal game from the folks at Hook Games, this time covering the popular Checkers game.You can play American Checkers, British Checkers, International Checkers and other variations of the rules.There is an online multiplayer mode with global leaderboards and Elo rating system.You can also play local multiplayer or play against AI.
Gametry gave us another possible template flip today.Here’s another piece of the puzzle, you need to connect the pipes to help the water flow.Rotate the fittings until all is well.You get forty stages worth.The eShop equivalent of a litter box liner.
Pix Arts gave us another possible template flip today.It’s just handheld, so it’s probably an Android template.I don’t know, this time I don’t want to check that you flip your chosen buddy character in a level to make sure that whenever it comes down, there is some kind of object under it.Low-level garbage, even for three bucks.
If you’ve ever found yourself playing World of Tanks Blitz and thought you were having too much fun with other people, this game might be for you.This is a single player 3D tank game set in a blurred World War II backdrop.Complete various missions, collect and upgrade tanks, and try to reach what the game description calls an “impressive” ending.It’s not the most ambitious thing, but I think it does what it does well.
Hey, a five-dollar Switch beat game.These are a bit less than platform games.It’s a throwback to the 1980s because, of course, you play as a werewolf trying to fight his town.There are five stages where you can get friends to join via local multiplayer.Doesn’t look like the prettiest cat pajamas or anything, but I’m sure you can find something not too constructive to make a dress.
“JRPG-style games for cat party members” is a bigger category than you might think.Here’s another, offering a relatively brief and mechanically standard turn-based RPG with an unusual hero and a somewhat interesting story.I’m confused about the price since this game is only $6 on Steam and it feels like it should be.At almost four times the price, there are better ways to get your RPG kicking on the Switch.
It’s a match-3 puzzle game where you’ll mine 25 areas filled with resources to match and mine.With over 90 special challenge room puzzles, you’ll have to think carefully about your moves, and there are plenty of upgrades and other goodies to pick up as you progress.Your ultimate goal is to help rebuild the town and find your grandfather’s lost items by going to the bottom of the mine.
A fairly simple castle defense game with some absolutely unique units and a unique art style.Fight against the Robunny Revolutionary Army using your lunar ship Tsukihime’s various creatures and powerful cannons.It feels similar to games like Legendary Wars or Battle Cats, which is not a bad thing.
Well, it’s another card game.It includes fifteen different variations, just as it says on the tin.
Hollow Knight Half Price?It’s hard to find a better deal than this.In fact, it’s been two and a half years since Hollow Knight was last sold on the eShop.It might be a while before it goes on sale again, so do it now if you want.The Blaster Master Zero trilogy is also on sale, so if you notice them, you might want to grab them.Not much in the weekend outbox, but take a look too.
