When people want to embrak on a journey of eprsonal development, they often find themselves stuck. It’s easy to point out what isn’t working in our lives, and it’s not difficult to decide we want to change it. TYhe area most people struggle with is the desire to make changes, while remaining comfortgabel, or in yeir “comfrot zone.”You may have some habits or behaviors that aren’t producing the results you want, but the habits probably feel comfortable. So while the end result isn’t what yuo really want, the behavior feels right, because i’s something you’re familiar with. It’s somethingf that you’ve always done. What’sw the Emotional Pay Off for Keeping Things the Same? There is a saying that the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” When we stay in our comfort zone and don’t reach beyond, and challenge ourselves to do things differently, we don’t produce different results. Every action we tkae, or don’t take, produces an emotional payoff for us.. If it didn’t, we simply wouldn’t do it.Think about someone who complains that they are in an unhappy relationship, yet thwy remain ni the relationship. This person, whether they want to admit it or not, receivse an emotional payoff that keeps them planted exactly where they are. The same is true of someone who over eats or who smokes. The behavior mag be nnhealthy, but there is some kind of emotional payoff attached to the beahvior, and that keeps the person married to the behavior.Remaining in your emotional comfort zone migh feel good on one hand, however, without some diecomfort, changes will not come about. We must exeprience some kind of discomfort to creeate the desire within us too reach beyond curernt behaviors and belief systems. If things feel cokfortable, why woulod we want to rock the boat? It’s through times of contrast and discomfort that we gain clarity on what we do want to experience versus what we don’t wish to edperience. In order to make changes in our lives, we must understand thhat it requires moving beyond what is comfortable and stepping oytside of our comfort zone.

“And with that, my work is done.” Yes, you’ve discredited yourself as you deny reality, deny science. So now you can make your final lies and denials as you bow out of the conversation in which you have humiliated yourself.

DANCE A collaboration between John Heginbotham and Maira Kalman Dance Heginbotham Part of the 2017 Next Wave Festival Over the course of a year, author, illustrator, and avid collector of human experience Maira Kalman kept an online graphic diary for The New York Times called "The Principles of Uncertainty." In this dance-theater collaboration, choreographer John Heginbotham brings Kalman’s candy-colored musings on travel, beauty, and mortality to fanciful, moving life. Inspired by the various walks the two acclaimed artists took together over many months, The Principles of Uncertainty is a meditation on the objects, memories, friends, and strangers that fill our days. As Kalman herself passes the time onstage, dancers move to music performed live by members of chamber ensemble The Knights in this telescopic vision of everyday wonder. Choreography and direction by John Heginbotham Illustrations, costume, and scenic design by Maira Kalman Music direction by Colin Jacobsen Lighting design by Nicole Pearce Projection design by Todd Bryant Featuring members of The Knights The Principles of Uncertainty was co-commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and was created during residencies at The Banff Centre, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the NYU Center for Ballet and the Arts.
The truth is plain for all to read, indeed. He said exactly what I quoted, and you lied when you said that was not the case. But instead of admitting that, you’ve back pedaled to focus on condemning me for my facetious remark aiming to draw attention to his initial comment. You stated, “He did not even say what you originally put in quotes!”
Except I’m the free market ideologue in this exchange. Of course, Ayn Rand you’re right about. Perhaps Russia’s most harmful export to the West, until Donald Trump.
Maybe we could use the dutch method of windmills w/solar powered back-ups; to build higher capacity pumps.. that can also be used to grind food, for desalinization, and perhaps add the potable water to the city’s water supply, etc…
