The New York- based violinist and composer has shared the stage with outstanding artists such as Greg Osby, Liberty Ellman, Stephan Crump, John Hébert, Gerald Cleaver, and E.J. Strickland, and her distinctive approach captured the attention of many through her debut album "Violinization," which was released in 2015 on Greg Osby’s "Inner Circle Music" label. However, when they’re subsequently thrown into the bearpit that is the Madison Avenue advertising world, they begin to wonder if fame and fortune is all it’s cracked up to be. It has been some four days since I saw the revival of Mr. Lloyd Webber’s nigh-legendary musical "Cats," which opened on Sunday at the Neil Simon Theater. And it’s been four days of persistent earworms." One of Broadway’s previously longest running and most popular musicals makes a special return to New York at the Neil Simon Theatre. Ideal for the whole family, Cats is based on poet TS Eliot’s 1939 book for older children, Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. With spectacular costumes, dazzling dance moves, and some of the most memorable show tunes in musical theatre (‘Memory’, ‘MaCavity’, ‘The Song of the Jellicles’, just to name a few!), Cats will leave you in awe. And possibly suspicious of any cats you may pass on the way home after… With direction from Trevor Nunn, choreography from Andy Blankenbuehler after Gillian Lynne and sets and costumes from the iconic John Napier, this Andrew Lloyd Webber-scored show won seven Tony Awards on its first 18-year outing on the Great White Way. Since it closed in 2000, audiences have been wishing for a revival, and now its finally here!
