As I was driving around on a Sunday afternoon in Texarkana recently, I started to recall in my mind how many motels this town has had over the years.I also realize how many people are still here.
Many motels I’ve passed by have either changed their names or still use the same name, some are just a foundation with just a logo that used to stand proudly out front.Others just need to be repaired or dismantled.Time changes things and nothing stays the same, but I do miss seeing these motels in the glory days of the 60′s and 70′s.
This motel is known for its 50 rooms, year-round air conditioning and heating, TV, radio, playground, indoor phone, swimming pool, BBQ and restaurant
No, it’s not the Ritz-Carlton, but in the past, it’s been pretty good.Modern air-conditioned rooms with ventilation and cooling, one mile from downtown Texarkana.Their motto at the time was “your home away from home” and unfortunately I don’t think you can say that today.
Free TV, heated pool, full service gas station, hobby shop, barber shop, coffee shop, florist.I remember going to the hobby store where they sold model airplane kits and there were a lot of airplanes in the window.
This has been touted as the country’s innkeeper for years.In the past, staying at a Holiday Inn was considered a luxury.
There you can enjoy real comfort, full air conditioning, I certainly hope so.New Simmons bed and furniture.Heated pool, good food.Live here alone and you live in the city center, or should I say, in the city center.
When you live here, you have year-round air conditioning, swimming pool, playground, house phone, TV, radio and townhouse restaurant
10 blocks from downtown, air-cooled air-conditioning unit, fireproof, nice to know and private tiled bathroom.Their slogan is “Your home is by the road”.
They have a 24 hour restaurant called Pitt Grill, I’ve eaten there many times and the home cooking is great.They also have a swimming pool and color TV, WOW!Pit Grill is now a Mexican restaurant.Note the Mobil gas station next door, now Popeye’s.
