Henry Pratt Company is a leading manufacturer of valves and fittings with over 60 years of experience serving the power industry.
Platt was introduced to the power industry through maintenance work at the Federal Edison Building in the city of Chicago. The site was one of Edison’s major power producers at the time.A valve is required in a water line that currently does not have a valve and has very little headroom.Henry Platt & Company was asked to design a compact valve to solve this problem. The design produced is a resilient seated butterfly valve that will one day become the company’s main product.
Pratt continued to manufacture resilient seated butterfly valves on a case-by-case basis until the mid-1940s, but after World War II Pratt decided to develop the valve into a product line for power and water utility applications.Today, Henry Platt & Company is a market leader in electricity and water.
The 1100 Series Nuclear Water Valves are ASME Class 2 and 3 nuclear safety related water supply butterfly valves available in sizes from 6″ to 36″ (larger upon request).Design ratings apply to standard pressure ratings of ANSI 150# class.Permitted by ASME Sec for valves larger than 24 inches, 75 psig service rating.III Code Class 1678, Available.
Design features of the 1100 series include flanged bodies made of SA-216, Gr compliant materials.WCB or SA-516, Gr.70; valve discs, of fabricated or cast construction or carbon steel, carbon steel valve discs having a stainless steel seat edge covering the entire width of the seat surface; and rubber seats, which are permanently bonded or mechanically fixed in the valve body , without the use of threaded fasteners. The valve shaft can be a one-piece construction extending through the valve disc, or it can consist of a two-piece shaft inserted into the disc hub.
The 1200 Series Nuclear Air Valves are ASME Class 2 and 3 nuclear safety related air service butterfly valves available in sizes 6″ to 48″.The design class is the same as the 1100 series.
The design features of the 1200 series are similar to the 1100 series, including flanged bodies, fabricated or cast steel construction discs with mechanically fixed and adjustable rubber seats, and shafts that can be of one-piece construction or one-piece structure.Two-piece shaft.
The 1400 Series Nuclear Water Valves are ASME Class 2 and 3 nuclear safety related water supply butterfly valves available in sizes from 3″ to 24″.Design ratings apply to standard pressure ratings ANSI 150#.
The design features and materials of construction of the 1400 series mimic those of the 1100 series because their purpose is the same.
Triton XR-70 Rubber Sealed Butterfly Valves meet AWWA C504 requirements and are available in sizes from 24″ to 144″.Standard body types are flange x flange end, mechanical joint (MJ) end (24in-48in), and flange and MJ end (24in, 30in, and 36in).
Triton features include Pratt E-Lok seat design and flow-through disc design. With the E-Lok seat design, the rubber seat is installed in the valve body to provide a hermetic shut-off.The flow-through disc design achieves greater strength at a lower weight than any other disc design currently on the market.
