4. Measurement and recording. Record shaft/rod diameter, stuffing box aperture and depth, and record the distance from bottom to top of stuffing box when the ring is sealed with water.

On the other hand, excessive fat injection causes waste. There is no accurate calculation of the valve seal capacity according to the valve type class. You can calculate the sealing capacity by valve size and category, and then inject a reasonable amount of grease.
Second, valve grease, often ignore the problem of pressure. During the operation of lipid injection, the lipid injection pressure has a regular peak-valley change. The pressure is too low, the seal leaks or fails, the pressure is too high, the grease injection port is blocked, the grease in the seal is hardened or the seal ring is locked with the valve ball and the valve plate. Usually, when the grease injection pressure is too low, the injected grease flows into the bottom of the valve chamber, generally occurring in small gate valves. While the grease injection pressure is too high, on the one hand, check the grease nozzle, if the grease hole is blocked, replace it; On the other hand, lipid hardening, cleaning fluid should be used to repeatedly soften the failed seal grease, and inject new grease replacement. In addition, seal type and seal material, also affect the injection pressure, different seal forms have different injection pressure, in general, the hard seal injection pressure is higher than the soft seal.
Third, when the valve grease, pay attention to the valve in the switch position. Ball valve maintenance is generally in the open state, special circumstances choose to close maintenance. Other valves should not be in the open position. The gate valve must be closed during maintenance to ensure that the grease is filled with the sealing groove along the sealing ring. In the open position, the seal grease is directly into the flow channel or valve chamber, resulting in waste.
Fourth, when the valve grease, often ignore the effect of grease. The pressure, amount of grease and switch position were normal during the operation. Fifth, grease, pay attention to the valve body drainage and wire blocking pressure relief. After the valve pressure test, the gas and moisture in the valve chamber of the sealing chamber are boosted due to the rise of the ambient temperature, and the drainage and pressure relief should be carried out first when the grease is injected, so as to facilitate the smooth progress of the grease injection work. After grease injection, the air and moisture in the sealing chamber are fully displaced. Timely release the pressure of the valve chamber, but also to ensure the safety of the valve. After the grease injection, it is necessary to tighten the drain and pressure relief wire plug to prevent accidents.
Sixth, when fat injection, we should pay attention to the problem of uniform fat. In normal grease injection, the grease hole closest to the grease injection mouth is the first fat, and then to the low point, is the high point, successively out of the fat. If not according to the law or not out of the fat, it is proved that there is blockage, timely clearance treatment.
Seventh, grease should also be observed when the valve diameter and sealing ring seat flush problem. For example, ball valve, if there is open position interference, you can adjust the open position limiter inward, make sure the diameter is straight and then lock. Adjust the limit not only the pursuit of open or close party position, to consider the whole. If the opening position is flat and not in place, the valve will not be tightly closed. Similarly, when adjusting the closing position, we should also consider the corresponding adjustment of the opening position. Ensure right Angle stroke of valve.
Eighth, grease injection, must be sealed grease injection mouth. Avoid impurities entering, or lipid oxidation at the grease mouth, and the cover should be coated with antirust grease to avoid rust. For the next operation.
Ninth, when fat injection, we should also consider the specific problems in the order of oil transportation in the future. In view of the different qualities of diesel and gasoline, the scouring and decomposition capacity of gasoline should be considered. In the future valve operation, when encountering gasoline section operation, timely supplement grease to prevent wear.
Tenth, grease, do not ignore the stem part of the grease. There is a sliding sleeve or packing in the valve shaft, which also needs to be kept lubricated to reduce the friction resistance during operation. If lubrication cannot be ensured, the torque will increase the wear part during electric operation, and the switch will be laborious during manual operation.
