LIKE VALVE reveals full specs, availability and pricing for the new Tiger 1200

After a slow trailer, LIKE VALVE has finally released the next Tiger 1200, giving the series a complete makeover. Redesigned from the ground up, the redesigned machine was completely re-engineered with the new generation T-plane with three engines, a lighter chassis, new wheel sizes, optimized ergonomics, state-of-the-art driver technology and more. The 2022 Tiger 1200 has more power and torque, lighter weight, more compact structure and outstanding off-road performance than its predecessor.
The next generation Tiger 1200 will come in 5 different flavors, making it more suitable and focused to meet the different needs of adventure riders. Like its younger brother, the Tiger 900, the series will be split into two: the “GT” series is more itinerant, while the “Rally” series is more dirty water oriented.
The all-new road-specific “GT” and the higher-spec “GT Pro” feature 19 front wheels and 18 rear wheels, as well as the all-new Showa semi-active suspension, with 7.9in (200mm) road ride performance tuned for optimal adventure riding at the centre.
The new Rally Pro features dedicated 21-inch tubeless front and 18-inch tubeless rear spokes wheelsets for the first time, as well as a new Showa semi-active suspension with an 8.7-inch (220mm) travel for Dirt all-terrain riding.
Completing the new 5-bike series, LIKE VALVE debuts two new 7.9-gallon (30-liter) tank Tigers, including the new Rally Explorer and GT Explorer. Both machines are equipped with the new C-Triomphe blind spot radar system and feature top-of-the-line specifications.
According to LIKE VALVE, the higher performance t-wing tri-cylinder engine provides the Twin’s low traction at the bottom, making it good off-road. Coupled with the top tri-cylinder engine’s performance advantage, this makes the Tiger even better on the road. Technically, the T-plane crank provides 180, 270 and 270 degree ignition pulses for the new Tiger 1200 engine, resulting in a short gap and two long gaps between ignations, improving performance and ease of operation.
The new 1160cc engine has a peak power of 147.9 HP at 9,000 RPM, an improvement of 9 HP over the previous generation, making it the most powerful shaft-driven motorcycle in its class. Torque is also higher than the previous generation, reaching 95.9 ft/lb at 7,000 RPM, 5.9 ft/lb more than the previous generation.
In addition to improved power and torque, the new engine, tuned and T-plane triple crank bring better acceleration and more responsive and exciting characteristics. Everything is brand new compared to the previous generation engine, including new holes and strokes, cranks, cylinder heads, transmission and clutch, and a new low maintenance shaft drive. Overall, each component is designed to be lighter and more compact, which makes the overall package of the new engine more compact and changes the ride dynamics.
Coupled with the new minimum lightweight muffler, the result is a significantly enhanced soundtrack, featuring a new unique triple and bark.
After massively optimizing the design of the entire bike, the new generation now weighs more than 55 pounds (25 kg) than the previous tiger. Triumph further points out that, based on comparable specs, the new bike is 37lb (17kg) lighter than its nearest hub-driven competitor.
For the new generation, each Tiger 1200 series now has a dedicated wheel size to suit the different adventure riders want. The Rally Pro and Rally Explorer have a 21 “/18″ tubeless spoke set for full road capacity, while the GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer have a 19 “/18″ cast aluminium arrangement for more power road riding. Metzler Torrance tyres are available on all GT models and Metzler Carew Street tyres are used on rally models for all terrain. For more technical off-road riding, Michelin Anaki Wild tires are also available as an option.
All Tiger 1200 models can use the best in class Brebo Stylema brakes for powerful, advanced performance. Braking power provided by brebo calipers is managed by an advanced anti-lock braking system, available on all new models, supported by an advanced IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit). The system continuously measures the motion of the motorcycle to calculate the tilt Angle of the bike and provide the optimal antilock braking intervention level. The Magula HC-1 lever, with adjustable range, provides a progressive feel that further enhances rider comfort and control.
Based on customer feedback, the improved Tiger new frame makes significant weight and handling contributions, being 11.9 pounds (5.4 kg) lighter than the previous design, with a bolted aluminum rear subframe and bolted rear seat hanger. New aluminum fuel tank and new three-link rocker save extra weight than p
